The star shared her make-up tips with Look, saying: ‘The colour-pop lips and the lashes could be worn in the day or for a drink with friends.’

‘The dark lips and the smoky eyes are great for winter, and the nude skin and nude lips are understated but sexy – perfect for dinner with your boyfriend.’

The overall effect is certainly very similar to that of Nicola’s best friend Cheryl Cole, who was recently voted Britain’s hair icon for 2011.

The star beat the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Winslet, and singers Rihanna and Beyonce to top the poll, which was voted for by 5,000 women in the UK.

Nicola and Cheryl reunited just before Christmas at Rihanna’s London concert, which was the last date on Rihanna’s Loud tour.

The pair showed off their model behaviour by puckering up for the camera, flashing the peace sign as they enjoyed some drinks backstage after the O2 Arena show.

While Cheryl looked chic in a cream cable knit jumper, beige trousers, a hat and brogues, Nicole wore a grey jumper with leather trousers for the occasion.

It was recently claimed that Cheryl is planning to host a Christmas lunch for Nicola and their fellow Girls Aloud bandmates over the festive period.

A source told The Sun: ‘Cheryl is going all out. She has already ordered all the food and is determined to cook everything herself.

‘She’s doing the full works, turkey with all the trimmings, and the lunch table will be laid with crackers and other traditional Christmas decorations.’
