The youngest member of Girls Aloud, Nicola
Roberts was usually known for being one of the shyer, more reserved in the
group.

But the now solo star’s confidence is clearly
on the rise, and it’s having a noticeable effect on her wardrobe.

The 26-year-old rocked a pair of sexy leather
trousers as she turned on the Manchester Christmas lights yesterday.

She completed her sultry ensemble with a creamy fur gilet, wearing her hair in thick loose waves tumbling over her shoulders.

The singer took to the stage to perform tracks
from her debut album Cinderella’s Eyes, which was released in
September.

The place clearly held some poignant memories
for the star, who tweeted: ‘I’m at the Lowry in Manchester.. This hotel holds so
many memories for me…’

She explained: ‘I did my first audition here
for the band 9 years ago..’

‘I first met kimberley here..’

‘And Girls Aloud drank Kasabian under the
table here too..’ the star added cheekily.

Band member Kimberley Walsh briefly talked
about reuniting with the girls on The Alan Titchmarsh Show last night as she
promoted her musical Shrek.

Confidence: The star has clearly come into her own as a
solo performer

‘We are definitely talking about plans for
next year because it’s our 10-year anniversary so we don’t know exactly what
it’s going to be,’ she told the host.

‘I can’t give too much information but we’ll
definitely be doing something together again which will be lovely.’

There has been talk of the band reuniting for
a while, with the girls teasing fans last month by posting a photo on twitter of
four of the members together but covering their faces with their
cellphones.

Suspicions arose when Nicola tweeted Cheryl
Cole: ‘Copy-catting has never flattered me..’

But the singer was quick to defend herself,
later adding: ‘Some people, like me, haven’t even heard this leaked Madonna
song..’

‘Some people find it SO EASY to say such
horrible nasty hurtful words so frivolously…’

Nicola meanwhile has recently defended herself
against accusations that she hinted Madonna had ripped off her single Beat Of My
Drum for her forthcoming single, Give Me All Your Love.
